Satellite Technology & Orbital Launch

  • Design, assembly, testing, and integration of CubeSats, NanoSats, and small satellites.
  • Payload development (remote sensing, communication, scientific instruments).
  • Ground station operations, tracking, telemetry & command (TT&C).
  • Orbital mechanics, launch vehicle integration, and actual high-altitude balloon or sub-orbital launches.
  • Cleanroom practices and environmental testing (vibration, thermal vacuum).

Outcome: Students will launch their own student-built satellites into orbit through partnerships.

Rocket Propulsion & Launch Systems

  • Fundamentals of rocketry: solid, liquid, and hybrid propulsion systems.
  • Rocket design, aerodynamics, structural analysis, and avionics.
  • Launch operations, mission planning, safety protocols, and countdown procedures.
  • Reusable rocket concepts and recovery systems.
  • Model rocket building and static fire tests on campus launch pads.

Outcome: Hands-on experience from concept to successful vertical launch.

Space Station Systems & Human Spaceflight

  • Design and simulation of orbital habitats (inspired by ISS and future Indian space station).
  • Life Support Systems (ECLSS): air revitalization, water recycling, waste management.
  • Microgravity simulation, radiation protection, and thermal control.
  • Crew training modules, EVA (spacewalk) procedures, and long-duration mission psychology.
  • Docking systems and robotic arm operations.

Outcome: Students experience living and working in a full-scale space station mock-up.

Planetary Journey & Deep Space Exploration

  • Mission design for Moon, Mars, and beyond (trajectory planning, landing systems).
  • Rover and lander technology, in-situ resource utilization (ISRU).
  • Planetary science, astrobiology, and terraforming concepts.
  • Virtual reality & haptic simulators for Martian and lunar surfaces.
  • Interplanetary communication delays and autonomous systems.

Outcome: Preparation for future Indian human missions and private planetary exploration projects.
